TRENDS Research & Advisory To Participate As Strategic Partner In Arab Media Forum In Beirut

TRENDS Research & Advisory is set to play a pivotal role as a strategic partner in the 21st Arab Media Forum. This event will occur from 29th to 30th October at the MEA Training and Conference Centre in Beirut. The forum's theme, "Media and Sustainable Development: Partners of the Present - Alliance of the Future," underscores the importance of media in achieving sustainable development.

Dr. Al-Ali emphasised that TRENDS' collaboration with the Arab Media Forum aligns with its vision to bridge scientific research and media. He highlighted that Arab media have a unique chance to strengthen their developmental role by adopting knowledge-based discourse rooted in credible information and thorough analysis.

TRENDS Joins Arab Media Forum in Beirut

The forum will host various panel discussions featuring Arab ministers of information, experts, and academics. These sessions aim to explore the intricate relationship between media and development from diverse perspectives. The agenda includes topics like "The Role of Media in Creating an Enabling Environment for Economic Development" and "Art in the Service of Development."

One notable session, "Depiction of Development in Arab Media: Reality and Aspirations," will involve former Arab information ministers. Another session, "The Impact of Fake News and Misinformation on Development," will be held in collaboration with UNESCO. Additionally, there will be an open discussion titled "Toward an Arabic Media Charter Supporting Sustainable Development."

On the first day, TRENDS will organise a special session called "Arab Media at the Heart of Sustainable Development." They will also present a knowledge corner showcasing their latest research publications and specialised studies in media, artificial intelligence, and related fields.

Youth Engagement and Training

A dedicated youth and media training programme will address digital media's role in the AI era. It will cover managing news platforms and leveraging social media to promote development goals. This initiative aims to equip young participants with essential skills for navigating modern media landscapes effectively.

The forum's main sessions will delve into critical topics such as how media can create environments conducive to economic growth. It will also examine how art can contribute to development through participation from leading Arab artists. These discussions aim to foster a deeper understanding of media's potential impact on sustainable progress.

TRENDS' involvement highlights its dedication to integrating media with development efforts. By focusing on knowledge dissemination and scientific research, TRENDS seeks to empower Arab journalism as an active partner in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
