TRENDS Enhances Academic And Research Collaboration With Italian Partners Through MoU

TRENDS Research and Advisory has formalised a partnership with the Italian Centre for International Studies (Ce.S.I.) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to enhance cooperation in research, economic studies, advisory services, and knowledge exchange. The collaboration seeks to foster joint efforts in analysing global events and promoting intellectual dialogue through various academic activities.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, expressed that this partnership aligns with their vision of expanding international cooperation. He noted that it aims to build bridges of academic collaboration with global research institutions. The partnership will focus on developing shared perspectives on challenges facing the Middle East and Europe amid rapid global change.

The MoU establishes a framework for long-term cooperation through joint studies analysing global events, especially peacebuilding and geopolitical developments. It also includes collaboration in organising conferences, symposiums, and workshops to promote intellectual dialogue. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to sustainable peace efforts.

Professor Andrea Margelletti, President of Ce.S.I., highlighted the importance of this MoU as a step toward broadening research horizons in the Middle East and Europe. He emphasised that understanding regional and international interconnections requires genuine scientific partnerships to produce realistic insights.

Dr. Al-Ali underscored the importance of strategic dialogue with the Italian Institute for International Affairs (IAI) as global challenges intensify. He stressed that such dialogues help unify efforts in conducting joint research, organising scientific events, and exchanging expertise that contribute to stability, peace, and sustainable development.

Michele Valensise, President of IAI, affirmed their commitment to strengthening the partnership with TRENDS. He described TRENDS as an inspiring global knowledge platform promoting tolerance, moderation, and intellectual exchange. This collaboration will support UAE-Italian cooperation in areas like AI, technology, and economic development.

Commitment to Rigorous Research

Dr. Maria Luisa Fantappié from IAI mentioned that both sides agreed on establishing a strategic framework focused on producing rigorous research. They aim to launch joint initiatives promoting tolerance and peace while holding regular meetings to enrich dialogue and develop forward-looking studies serving the academic community.

A discussion session was also held by TRENDS through its virtual office in Italy with experts from IAI. The session explored ways of strengthening collaboration and producing research that promotes tolerance and coexistence. It reviewed current developments in the Middle East and Europe, particularly focusing on the agreement to end the war in Gaza.

The signing ceremony took place at Ce.S.I.'s headquarters in Rome with experts from both organisations present. This event marks an encouraging step toward enhancing cooperation between these institutions for mutual benefit.
