TRENDS Research And Advisory Announces Annual Conference On Sustainable Water Security In Abu Dhabi

The upcoming fifth annual conference by TRENDS Research and Advisory, titled "Sustainable Water Security: Shaping a Water-Secure Future Through Innovation and Knowledge," is set for 2nd to 3rd September at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Canal, Abu Dhabi. The event will gather 33 officials, researchers, and international experts from various countries, alongside representatives from regional and international organisations.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, highlighted that this conference aligns with the UAE's preparations for the 2026 United Nations Water Conference. He stated that the event acts as a preliminary knowledge platform to enrich global discussions on water security and supports efforts to create a strategic framework for sustainable water management.

Annual Conference on Water Security Announced

The conference aims to address the increasing challenges of water security by exploring innovative solutions and policies. It seeks to ensure sustainable water resources amidst global climate change and economic pressures. An exhibition will accompany the event, featuring youth participation and showcasing initiatives in water security.

The organising committee, led by Dr. Al-Ali, recently held a preparatory meeting to finalise logistical, technical, and scientific arrangements. They confirmed the readiness of all teams involved to ensure the success of the conference. Discussions also covered organisational plans, media coverage, and session programmes aligned with the event's objectives.

The first day will include sessions on shaping future water security, transboundary water geopolitics focusing on conflict and cooperation, and multilateralism in global water dialogue. These sessions aim to promote SDG 6 through think tanks' roles in enhancing knowledge exchange.

On the second day, discussions will cover finance's role in transforming water systems, technology-driven approaches for future sustainability, and resilience in national water systems through global case studies. Youth activities will also be featured alongside an exhibition highlighting recent research in water security.
