TRENDS Research & Advisory Reveals Winners Of Future Researchers Competition At Sharjah International Book Fair

TRENDS Research & Advisory, the research partner of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), recently announced the winners of its inaugural "Future Researchers" competition. This initiative targeted university students throughout the UAE. The top three winners were celebrated at a special ceremony held at the TRENDS pavilion during SIBF.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, highlighted that this competition aligns with their strategic vision to empower youth and enhance their research skills. He emphasised that it is part of TRENDS' core programmes aimed at nurturing young talent and fostering scientific inquiry.

Winners Announced for Future Researchers Competition

The first prize was awarded to Meera Al Hosani from the American University of Sharjah for her research on "Achieving Personal Data Privacy and Security in the Tech Era." Li Ziqi from the University of Sharjah secured second place with a study titled "BRICS+ Governance at the Crossroads of AI and Green Development: Insights from the Expansion of New Members." Alya Bin Khamas, also from the University of Sharjah, took third place for her work on "Unlocking South to South Potential: Exploring the BRICS+ Expansion and the Prospect of Mitigation and Rapprochement."

Al Anood Al Hosani, Head of the TRENDS Youth Council, stated that this competition was designed to foster a culture of scientific research among university students. It aimed to channel their energy and creativity into producing valuable academic contributions. She mentioned that 38 diverse research papers were submitted by students from various UAE universities, with an evaluation committee selecting the top three entries.

Dr. Al Ali explained that this initiative is a practical embodiment of TRENDS' vision: "Investing in Youth… Investing in the Future." The competition aims to enhance students' research capabilities, from idea development to data analysis and presentation of findings professionally.

He added that it also encourages participants to propose innovative solutions for future challenges. Dr. Al Ali further noted plans to expand this competition's scope regionally and internationally, creating a platform dedicated to developing young researchers who can anticipate future trends using current tools.

This initiative represents a significant step towards building a generation capable of shaping future scientific inquiry and intellectual progress. By focusing on developing intellectual and creative abilities, TRENDS aims to support young researchers in addressing future challenges effectively.
