Enhancing African Governance: TRENDS Collaborates With SIGLA For Research Excellence

TRENDS Research and Advisory, during its global research tour in Africa, has been strengthening ties with key research institutions in South Africa. A significant dialogue session was held between TRENDS researchers and their counterparts at Stellenbosch University's Security Institute for Governance and Leadership in Africa (SIGLA) in Cape Town.

This meeting aimed to explore potential research collaborations and strategic partnerships. The goal was to enhance shared research interests and exchange expertise in governance, leadership studies, and other fields. The session also marked the launch of the Muslim Brotherhood International Power Index (MBIPI), developed by TRENDS and presented in multiple languages.

TRENDS-SIGLA: New Research Horizons

SIGLA officials commended the MBIPI's scientific methodology, which integrates both qualitative and quantitative analysis. This initiative opened new avenues for collaboration between TRENDS and SIGLA, one of South Africa's premier think tanks. The partnership aims to deepen understanding of African issues and devise innovative solutions to common challenges.

The session facilitated an exchange of experiences and knowledge among researchers from various institutions. This interaction enriched the research work and contributed to the development of new research areas. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, highlighted the importance of scientific research in addressing African challenges and developing effective solutions.

Dr. Al-Ali expressed his satisfaction with meeting SIGLA counterparts, noting that it provided a platform to discuss critical issues facing Africa. He also mentioned consulting with experts on enhancing research collaboration between TRENDS and SIGLA.

Dr. Michelle Nel from SIGLA praised TRENDS' research efforts and the MBIPI methodology. She emphasised the significance of collaboration between research institutions in governance and leadership within Africa. This dialogue session has set a foundation for future cooperation between TRENDS Research and Advisory and Stellenbosch University's SIGLA. By combining their expertise, both institutions aim to contribute significantly to understanding African issues better and finding innovative solutions.
