Transport Authority Mobilises Resources For Safe And Efficient Pilgrim Services During Hajj 1446 AH
The Transport General Authority (TGA) dedicated extensive resources to ensure safe and efficient transportation for pilgrims during the 1446 AH Hajj season. Over 1,673,000 pilgrims arrived in Makkah this year. The TGA's oversight teams were crucial in inspecting vehicles and ensuring compliance at over 50 locations in Makkah and Madinah, facilitating smooth pilgrim rituals.
More than 300,000 field inspections were conducted across all transportation modes, revealing over 38,000 violations. Despite the high number of checks, a compliance rate of 93% was achieved, marking the highest in recent years. This reflects the authority's strong enforcement efforts to maintain safety and efficiency.

In addition to operational oversight, the TGA carried out several field studies on transportation activities. These studies aimed to forecast future needs and identify opportunities for sustainable growth. This aligns with the authority’s vision for an integrated transport sector that looks towards future development.
The TGA launched an initiative to measure user satisfaction involving over 10,000 participants. Feedback collected was used to assess service effectiveness and enhance overall efficiency. The goal was to achieve high levels of user satisfaction throughout the Hajj season by continuously improving services.
During the Hajj season, more than 25,000 buses were deployed to transport pilgrims efficiently. Additionally, field data indicated that over 900,000 livestock were transported using more than 250 dedicated shuttle trucks. These efforts ensured that both pilgrims and essential resources were moved smoothly.
The TGA's comprehensive approach during this year's Hajj season highlights its commitment to providing safe and efficient transportation services. By focusing on regulatory compliance and user satisfaction, the authority aims to support a seamless pilgrimage experience while planning for future improvements in the transport sector.
