Traditional Crafts Highlighted At The International Saudi Falcons And Hunting Exhibition In Riyadh

The International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition is currently showcasing Saudi handicrafts at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, north of Riyadh. Organised by the Saudi Falcons Club, this event began on October 3 and will continue until October 12. Visitors are drawn to the exhibition, which highlights the rich cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia through a variety of traditional crafts.

With a focus on national heritage, the Heritage Commission is actively participating in the event. Their pavilion aims to educate attendees about the significance of preserving national identity and emphasises falconry as an integral part of Saudi culture. The commission also showcases its efforts in safeguarding and promoting heritage through engaging cultural activities.

The exhibition features an extensive array of crafts from different regions across Saudi Arabia. These include Sadu weaving, embroidery, palm frond weaving, leatherwork, palm and gypsum crafts, prayer beads, gemstones, textiles, sculptures, traditional engravings, art, and artistic models. This diverse collection offers visitors a glimpse into the Kingdom's rich cultural tapestry.

Open daily from 4 pm to 11 pm, the exhibition is free for all visitors. It includes a dedicated section for art, crafts, and sculptures. Over 400 exhibitors from 45 countries are participating in this expansive event that covers an area of 160,000 square meters.

The exhibition also has special pavilions dedicated to falcons and falconry-related hobbies. These sections offer various hunting weapons, falconry supplies, food items, camping gear, hunting tools, motorcycles, bicycles, and all-terrain vehicles for sale. This aspect of the exhibition highlights the deep-rooted tradition of falconry within Saudi culture.

This event not only celebrates traditional crafts but also serves as a platform for international exhibitors to showcase their products. By bringing together participants from around the world, it fosters cultural exchange and appreciation for Saudi Arabia's unique heritage.
