Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Leads Tolerance Walk To Mars With 3,000 Participants From Diverse Communities
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, led a symbolic event called the "Tolerance Walk to Mars" with 3,000 participants from various UAE communities. This initiative was part of the National Festival of Tolerance's third day at Umm Al Emarat Park, organised by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in collaboration with the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026.
The march included notable figures such as Zhang Yiming, China's Ambassador, who joined Sheikh Nahyan. Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Rugby Federation, also participated. Other attendees included Afra Al Sabri, Director-General of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, alongside federal and local officials, cultural figures, ambassadors from friendly nations, people of determination, and senior citizens.
Sheikh Nahyan expressed his delight at the diverse participation. He stated that everyone "played a wonderful symphony in all languages and colours," highlighting a collective commitment to tolerance and peaceful coexistence. The event aimed to strengthen values like human fraternity and cooperation for mutual benefit across society.
During the event, Sheikh Nahyan planted a tree from China while Zhang Yiming planted a Ghaf tree at the Garden of Tolerance. Carolin Konther López, Paraguay's Ambassador to the UAE, witnessed this symbolic gesture. Additionally, Sheikh Nahyan and the Chinese Ambassador unveiled a commemorative plaque celebrating Umm Al Emarat Park's 10th anniversary.
Sheikh Nahyan praised the involvement of Abu Dhabi 2026 Masters Games in promoting sports for health benefits. He emphasised that this initiative welcomes all segments of UAE society without exception. The broad participation reflects the UAE's path of tolerance as a lived reality.
The UAE has successfully integrated diverse communities despite differences. This approach offers an inspiring model of tolerance and coexistence globally. These values are rooted in the teachings and principles of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who founded the nation on acceptance and harmony among all people.
