Thunderstorms To Hit Makkah, Other Regions In Saudi Arabia: Civil Defense Warns
Thunderstorms are forecasted to persist in Makkah and other parts of Saudi Arabia from Friday through Tuesday, as reported by the General Directorate of Saudi Civil Defense.
The directorate has urged residents to be extremely cautious and prioritize their safety during this period of rainy weather. They advised people to remain in safe locations and avoid areas prone to torrents, water swamps, and valleys.

Swimming in these areas is strongly discouraged due to the significant danger they pose. The directorate stressed the importance of following instructions disseminated through various media channels and social networks, according to Saudi Press Agency.
Several governorates within the Makkah region will experience moderate to heavy rainfall, potentially leading to torrential rains, hail, and dust storms. Affected areas include Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Kamil, and Al-Ardiyat. Meanwhile, light to moderate rain is expected in the Holy Capital, Al-Kamil, Al-Jumum, Qunfudhah, Allaith, Al-Khurmah, Turbah, Raniyah, and Al-Mawiyah.
The Riyadh region will also see light to moderate rains accompanied by sand storms in areas such as Al-Aflaj, Hotah Bani Tamim, Al-Kharj, Wadi Al-Dawasir, and Al-Sulayyil.
In addition to Makkah and Riyadh regions, Asir, Al-Baha, and Jazan will face moderate to heavy rain. Light to moderate rain is anticipated in Madinah, Najran, and the Eastern Province.
The General Directorate of Saudi Civil Defense emphasized that individuals should strictly adhere to safety guidelines provided through official channels. This includes staying updated with weather alerts and avoiding risky areas during adverse weather conditions.
The directorate's warnings aim to ensure public safety by preventing accidents related to hazardous weather conditions. Residents are encouraged to take all necessary precautions seriously.
