Precision Oncology Summit In Madinah: KFSHRC Hosts Third Saudi Conference
The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) has opened the Third Saudi Precision Oncology Summit in Madinah, gathering oncology experts from Saudi Arabia and several other countries. The meeting focuses on precision oncology research and clinical practice, with the goal of improving cancer diagnosis and treatment strategies.
Scientific sessions during the summit address several core themes in cancer care. Topics include advances in cancer biology, novel methods for diagnosing and monitoring leukaemia, and precision oncology approaches for breast and gastrointestinal tumours. Delegates also review developments in T-cell based therapies and current clinical trials in precision oncology across different cancer types.

Participants are engaging in structured discussions designed to support scientific dialogue and practical knowledge sharing. The programme looks at how molecular profiling and targeted therapies can be introduced into routine clinical services. This approach aims to narrow the gap between research findings and daily practice, supporting more accurate and personalised cancer care for patients.
The summit is being held with the attendance of the Chief Executive Officer of KFSHRC, Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh. Alongside KFSHRC specialists, a wide group of oncologists and researchers from within Saudi Arabia and from international centres are contributing to the sessions and panel discussions.
According to KFSHRC, the gathering reflects an ongoing focus on medical education, scientific research, and structured knowledge transfer. The hospital reports that the summit also supports collaboration between institutions and helps build scientific partnerships. These efforts are intended to strengthen specialised cancer services and support the long-term development of precision oncology in Saudi Arabia.
KFSHRC is ranked first in the Middle East and Africa and twelfth worldwide among the top 250 academic medical centres for 2025. Brand Finance 2024 lists KFSHRC as the highest valued healthcare brand in Saudi Arabia and the region. Newsweek also includes KFSHRC in its rankings for the World’s Best Hospitals 2025, the World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2026, and the World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2026.
The summit forms part of KFSHRC’s broader role within regional healthcare, aligning education, research, and clinical practice under one framework. The event, reported by SPA at 17:51 local time, 14:51 GMT, underscores how precision oncology is becoming central to cancer care planning in Saudi Arabia and linked international networks.
