Third Saudi International Maritime Forum Addresses Maritime Security Challenges In The Age Of Artificial Intelligence
The Third Saudi International Maritime Forum commenced in the Eastern Region, organised by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces. The event, themed "Maritime Security in the Age of Artificial Intelligence – Trends and Threats," is under the patronage of Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. Attendees include Chief of the General Staff General Fayyadh Al-Ruwaili, senior naval leaders, experts, government officials, and representatives from global maritime companies and regulatory bodies.
Lieutenant General Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Ghuraibi, Chief of Naval Staff, expressed appreciation for the support from the Minister of Defense. He noted that the forum aligns with rapid advancements in artificial intelligence impacting global maritime security. The forum aims to foster international collaboration on maritime security and exchange knowledge among naval leaders.

The forum's objectives include promoting advanced systems in the maritime sector and raising awareness about environmental conservation. It also seeks to leverage emerging technologies to address security challenges effectively. An exhibition was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Al-Ruwaili, showcasing strategic services and innovations from sectors specialising in maritime security.
Spanning three days, the forum features 42 speakers across five dialogue sessions and 21 workshops. Key topics include maritime strategies in the age of artificial intelligence, policies for integrating AI into maritime operations, impacts on security and cybersecurity, training maritime professionals in AI era, and future military industries driven by AI technologies.
The exhibition includes participation from 29 government agencies and 23 local and international companies. They are displaying the latest equipment and technologies related to maritime security. This highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing global maritime security through collaboration and technology-driven solutions.
Lieutenant General Al-Ghuraibi emphasised that this event is crucial for promoting international cooperation on maritime issues. It serves as a platform for exchanging insights among naval leaders worldwide. The focus is on adopting cutting-edge systems within the sector while addressing environmental concerns.
The forum underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to enhancing global maritime security through innovation.
