UAE Council For Fatwa Concludes Third Global Conference On Family In Context Of National Identity
The UAE Council for Fatwa recently concluded its third Global Conference, focusing on family dynamics within the framework of reality jurisprudence. Held in Abu Dhabi on 15th and 16th December 2025, the event was under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak. The conference aimed to explore national identity and societal cohesion.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah chaired the conference, with Omar Habtoor Al Darei overseeing proceedings. Scholars and experts from both the UAE and abroad participated. Dr. Saba Salem Al Kaabi delivered the final statement, summarising outcomes and recommendations in front of attendees interested in family matters.

The conference's final statement highlighted its alignment with the Year of Community 2025 activities. It also celebrated President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's directive to mark 2026 as the Year of Family. This initiative aims to bolster intergenerational solidarity and foster strong family ties within a values-driven society.
The statement praised H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's efforts in supporting Emirati families. Her role in strengthening national identity and promoting social solidarity was acknowledged as crucial for family cohesion. The positive response to the Year of Family 2026 announcement was also noted.
The conference welcomed national initiatives under the National Family Growth Agenda 2031. Recommendations for Progress
The statement urged participation in programmes under the National Family Growth Agenda 2031. It called for collaboration with national entities concerned with family affairs to address emerging issues through workshops and projects.
Recommendations included developing AI-based platforms for analysing family data, launching training programmes in family jurisprudence, conducting field studies to support policies, and fostering research collaborations between academic institutions and specialised centres.
The UAE Council for Fatwa committed to implementing these recommendations with local and international partners. Their goal is to make a significant impact on family affairs by establishing a positive jurisprudential influence.
