Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Engages With President Of Paraguay To Strengthen Bilateral Ties
H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, welcomed Santiago Peña, President of Paraguay, at Wahat Al Karama in Abu Dhabi. This meeting was part of President Peña's official visit to the UAE. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, highlighting the strengthening ties between the two nations.
The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development; Dr. Al Saghira Wabran Alahbabi, UAE Ambassador to Paraguay; and Shadi Malak, CEO of Etihad Rail.
Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed praised the progress in relations between the UAE and Paraguay. He attributed this advancement to the support and guidance from both countries' leaderships aimed at achieving mutual interests. The discussions underscored a commitment to furthering cooperation in various fields.
Following their meeting, Sheikh Theyab and President Peña observed a guard of honour and laid flowers at the martyrs’ monument. This gesture took place at Wahat Al Karama, a site that symbolises the heroism and sacrifices made by UAE Nationals in defending their country.
Wahat Al Karama stands as a tribute to those who have given their lives for the UAE. Sheikh Theyab highlighted that it embodies gratitude from the UAE leadership towards its heroes. It represents values such as heroism, courage, and sacrifice that are cherished by Emirati generations.
President Peña received a briefing on Wahat Al Karama's significance during his visit. The memorial honours those who have protected the nation's achievements and gains through their ultimate sacrifices.
Acknowledging Sacrifices
At the conclusion of his tour, President Peña wrote a message in the guestbook at Wahat Al Karama. His note expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by UAE martyrs. This gesture further cemented the bond between Paraguay and the UAE through shared respect for those who have served their countries.
