TGA Ensures Al-Mashaer And Haramain Railways' Readiness For Hajj

The Transport General Authority (TGA) has conducted inspections to assess the readiness of the Al-Mashaer Train, Haramain High-Speed Railway, and automated people mover at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, in preparation for the upcoming Hajj season. These efforts included field visits to various transport stations and systems to ensure their efficiency and safety.

The Al-Mashaer Train, which consists of nine stations distributed across the holy sites, was a focal point of the inspections. Connected by a double-track railway spanning 18 kilometers, the train has a capacity of 72,000 passengers per hour in one direction. It facilitates more than 2,000 trips to ease the movement of pilgrims during the Hajj season.

The readiness of the Haramain High-Speed Railway in Jeddah was also evaluated. This railway comprises five stations and 35 trains. During the Hajj season, it will conduct more than 3,800 trips, providing a comfortable and convenient travel experience for pilgrims. The inspections aimed to ensure that all systems are functioning optimally.

Automated People Mover at King Abdulaziz International Airport

Additionally, TGA assessed the automated people mover at King Abdulaziz International Airport. This system assists in transporting passengers and pilgrims within Terminal 1 from the check-in area to the international departure lounges and vice versa. The automated people mover has a track length of 750 meters and a capacity of 4,000 passengers per hour in one direction.
