TGA Ensures Safety With Over 41,000 Inspections In Makkah And Madinah
In a significant move to ensure the safety and compliance of transportation services in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, the Transport General Authority (TGA) has ramped up its inspection operations during the third week of Ramadan. The authority's diligent efforts have led to the execution of over 41,000 inspections, aimed at enhancing the travel experience for the guests of Allah.
The TGA's comprehensive inspection campaign in Makkah accounted for 34,194 operations, uncovering 6,100 violations and achieving an impressive compliance rate of 89%. Meanwhile, in Madinah, the authority conducted 7,669 inspections, identifying 1,118 violations and securing a compliance rate of 91%. These operations are part of TGA's commitment to enforcing standards and regulations, ensuring that transportation services meet the required safety and operational standards.

Among the most common violations identified were issues related to operational permits and vehicle maintenance. In buses, notable infractions included drivers operating without a valid driver's card, absence of necessary technical equipment, and vehicles running without an operating card. Truck violations were primarily concerned with operating without an operating card, lack of a transportation document for goods, and failure to meet approved safety requirements. Taxi services were not exempt from scrutiny, with violations including non-compliance with the approved uniform, neglecting vehicle maintenance, and conducting business without a permit or operating card.
The TGA's rigorous supervisory operations underscore its dedication to ensuring that land transportation activities in Makkah and Madinah adhere strictly to regulatory requirements. This initiative is crucial for facilitating a smooth and safe journey for Umrah performers and worshippers visiting these sacred cities. The authority's proactive measures reflect its ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality and safety of transportation services, contributing significantly to the well-being of all travelers during their spiritual journey.
Reported at local time 00:05 and GMT 21:05 on April 1st, this initiative by the TGA highlights its relentless pursuit of excellence in transportation safety and compliance. As thousands converge on Makkah and Madinah for Umrah during Ramadan, such efforts are indispensable for ensuring their journeys are both safe and compliant with established standards.
