TGA Stresses Compliance With Safety Standards For Educational Transport
The Transport General Authority (TGA) has emphasised the importance of drivers adhering to regulatory requirements for educational transport. This reminder coincides with the start of the new academic year 1445 AH and students returning to schools. The TGA mandates that drivers must be at least 25 years old, hold a valid driver's license, and have a clean criminal record.
Additionally, drivers are required to obtain a driver's card, pass a medical examination by the TGA, and complete an approved first aid course. They must also pass the professional competency test and any other tests or training courses specified by the authority. These measures aim to ensure that transportation services are safe, efficient, and of high quality.

The TGA has also stressed the importance of students and educational staff using only regular carriers. This is crucial for their safety and ensures they receive reliable transportation services. The authority takes this commitment very seriously.
Licensed operators in this activity must equip educational buses with specific safety tools and technical equipment. These include buses with more than 15 seats, those with fewer than 15 seats, and smaller vehicles with less than nine seats. The goal is to enhance student care and meet required safety standards.
The necessary equipment includes safety tools on the bus, tracking devices linked to the WASL platform, cameras inside the bus, and a "reflective school bus" sign on the sides and back of the bus. Other equipment that contributes to ensuring safe arrival for beneficiaries is also required.
Inspection Tours Intensified
The TGA is intensifying its inspection tours of buses designated for educational transportation. This ensures that carriers comply with regulatory requirements and standards approved by the authority. The inspections are part of ongoing efforts to maintain high safety standards in educational transport.
The authority allows communication through beneficiary care platforms for inquiries or comments. The unified number 19929 is available for monitoring violations by carriers in this vital activity. Additionally, information can be accessed through the authority's official website at tga.gov.sa.
These measures underscore TGA's dedication to providing safe transportation services as students return to schools for the new academic year.
