TGA Emphasises Compliance With Regulations For Safe Cargo Transportation And Enhanced Quality
The Transport General Authority (TGA) emphasised the critical role of transporters in the cargo sector to follow established technical and regulatory standards. This adherence ensures driver and road user safety while improving service quality in this essential industry. The TGA highlighted the necessity of inspecting trucks before loading, including checking lights, body alignment, mirrors, brakes, and electrical connections.
Transporters must comply with operational guidelines for safe and efficient goods transportation. They should ensure that cargo types are permissible, unloaded at designated spots, securely fastened on trucks, and stored under appropriate conditions when needed. Trucks must also match the cargo weight as per approved regulations.

To enhance road safety and regulate land transport, TGA stressed adherence to permitted working hours for truck drivers during Ramadan. Drivers can drive up to nine hours daily, extendable to 10 hours twice weekly, with a weekly limit of 56 hours. Regular rest periods are mandatory: a 45-minute break after four and a half hours of driving, 11 hours of rest within 24 hours, and 48 hours weekly.
The "Naql" e-document issued via the LOGISTI platform is crucial for confirming goods receipt by transporters in their stated condition. It enhances transparency by providing immediate electronic access to truck information and condition. This document safeguards rights and responsibilities of all parties involved.
The Naql document improves service quality and safety standards while enhancing the business environment through technical integration with relevant entities. It plays a vital role in ensuring transparency in transportation operations.
The TGA urged beneficiaries and transport drivers to report any violations in the cargo transportation sector through official channels or by calling the unified number 19929. This step aims to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Adhering to these regulations enhances road safety and boosts land transportation efficiency in Saudi Arabia. It also contributes to developing the logistics sector, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030's goals to improve transportation and logistic services efficiency.
