TeamLab Borderless Museum: A Cultural Milestone For Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030

The Quality of Life Program CEO, Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Baker, highlighted the significance of the teamLab Borderless international museum in Jeddah. This initiative aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives, which aim to enhance the Kingdom’s contribution to arts and culture. The museum is designed to bolster the infrastructure necessary for hosting international art exhibitions.

As the first museum of its kind in the Middle East, teamLab Borderless features over 80 experimental artworks created by the teamLab group using digital technology. This unique creative experience seeks to improve the quality of life in Saudi Arabia. During the museum's opening, Al-Baker stated, "The teamLab Borderless museum aims to be a cultural and tourist destination for residents and visitors of Jeddah."

Al-Baker also mentioned that the partnership with the Ministry of Culture aims to establish cultural infrastructure across the Kingdom. This includes developing quality cultural facilities and museums that enhance cultural displays in various regions, thereby contributing to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The teamLab Borderless museum is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Culture and the teamLab international artistic group. Spanning an area of 10,000 square meters in Historic Jeddah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, this project is part of the Quality of Life Program initiatives aimed at achieving Saudi Vision 2030.

Originally launched in Tokyo in 2018, the teamLab Borderless museum attracted over 2.3 million visitors annually, setting a record as the world's most visited museum dedicated to a single art group. The Jeddah branch is expected to increase tourist numbers and solidify Saudi Arabia's status as a global cultural destination.

The establishment of this museum underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing its cultural landscape and providing residents and visitors with enriching experiences. By integrating advanced digital technology into its exhibits, teamLab Borderless offers an innovative approach to art that aligns with contemporary trends.
