Team Abu Dhabi Ready For Challenge At 2024 UIM F1H2O World Championship
Team Abu Dhabi is set for a significant challenge at the Grand Prix of Indonesia as Jonas Andersson, the reigning champion, embarks on his title defence journey in the 2024 UIM F1H2O World Championship. The veteran Emirati driver, Thani Al Qemzi, alongside his new teammate, Alberto Comparato, showcased steady performances in the sprint races on Lake Toba, setting the stage for the season's opening round.
After a demanding qualifying session, Al Qemzi and Comparato navigated through a 14-lap preparation race comfortably, laying down their intent for the season ahead. Andersson, having secured pole position by outperforming Erik Stark, continued his dominance by winning the opening sprint race with a significant lead over Bartek Marszalek from Poland.

This victory awarded Andersson ten championship points under the new Grand Prix format, a feat matched by Victory Team's Erik Stark in the second sprint race. Stark clinched victory over Sharjah team's newcomer, Rusty Wyatt, further intensifying the competition.
Al Qemzi, participating in his 153rd career Grand Prix on the world's largest volcanic lake, aims to leverage his extensive experience to ascend through the ranks. Despite finishing sixth in today's race and earning five points, his ambitions remain high for tomorrow's competition.
Comparato faced challenges from the outset, starting at the back due to an engine replacement necessitated by a qualifying mishap. However, the young Italian demonstrated resilience and skill by overtaking competitors and securing his first championship points for Team Abu Dhabi.
With rougher conditions expected for tomorrow's race, all drivers will need to maintain their focus to navigate through potential challenges successfully. Comparato, in particular, is poised for a strong performance from the back of the field, aiming to make a significant impact in his debut season with Team Abu Dhabi.
