Team Abu Dhabi Gears Up To Defend UIM F2 World Championship Title In Lithuania This July

Team Abu Dhabi is gearing up for the second round of the UIM F2 World Championship in Klaipėda, Lithuania, on 18th and 19th July. This event promises intense competition among top powerboat racers globally. The team will be represented by reigning world champion Rashed Al Qemzi in boat No. 1 and Mansoor Al Mansoori in boat No. 35. Both aim to defend their championship title from last season.

Al Qemzi and Al Mansoori are particularly focused on this round after facing challenges in the opening race in Brindisi, Italy, last June. Al Qemzi experienced a technical issue that forced him out, while Al Mansoori's boat capsized during the final laps. Despite these setbacks, Team Abu Dhabi is determined to secure a strong result in Lithuania to stay competitive in the title race for the 2025 season.

Team Abu Dhabi Aims to Retain F2 Title

The opening round saw Britain's Matthew Palfreyman take first place, with France's Peter Morin and Sweden's Wilmer Wiberg finishing second and third, respectively. Rashed Al Qemzi remains a top contender for this year's championship, having won five world titles, making him one of the most decorated drivers in the competition.

Nasser Al Dhaheri, head of Team Abu Dhabi's delegation, highlighted the significance of this upcoming round as crucial in their quest to retain the world title. "We are fully aware of the level of competition in a championship of this magnitude and history. Our goal is to maintain the title and perform in a way that honours the UAE’s name," he stated.

The team aims to reestablish themselves as strong contenders with four more rounds remaining after Lithuania—continuing in Italy and concluding with two final rounds in Portugal this October. Their focus is on maintaining their impressive record and securing positive results throughout these stages.

Both drivers are eager to overcome previous challenges and demonstrate their skills on an international stage once again. With determination and strategic planning, Team Abu Dhabi hopes to reclaim their position at the top of the leaderboard by season's end.
