Tawazun Council Emphasises Resilience And Future Readiness For National Security
Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of Tawazun Council, highlighted the vulnerability of global supply chains in recent years. He stated that disruptions in one area can impact various industries, including defense. Speaking at the International Defence Conference 2025 in Abu Dhabi, he emphasised the importance of trade routes for defense logistics.
Trade routes are crucial for delivering essential materials and equipment on time. However, these routes face increasing challenges. Natural disasters, geopolitical tensions, and economic instability have repeatedly disrupted supply chains, affecting production timelines and the flow of critical components.

Dr. Al Nuaimi stressed that disruptions in trade routes have strategic implications beyond logistics. Delayed shipments lead to delayed capabilities, while compromised supply chains affect readiness. This situation calls for urgent measures to rethink and future-proof defense supply chains.
In today's unpredictable environment, resilience is essential for the defense industry. A resilient ecosystem requires a strategic balance involving local production, regional partnerships, and global collaboration. This integrated approach enhances adaptability to threats and supports sustainable growth in the sector.
The Tawazun Council views resilience as a fundamental principle rather than just a response to challenges. Dr. Al Nuaimi explained that their mission is to create an agile and future-ready defense ecosystem. This aligns with UAE leadership's goal to establish the country as a hub for regional and international defense industries.
By focusing on anticipation, adaptation, and future readiness, Tawazun aims to strengthen national security and ensure long-term sustainability in the defense sector.
