Tawazun Council And Mubadala Collaborate On UAE's Aerospace Future With New Al Ain MRO Facility

Tawazun Council and Mubadala Investment Company are collaborating to transform the aerospace sector with a new aircraft engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Al Ain. This partnership highlights the UAE's dedication to becoming a global leader in aerospace, significantly boosting the nation's economy. The project was announced at IDEX 2025 and marks the first of its kind in the MENA and South Asia regions.

The Al Ain facility is being developed by Sanad in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney, a renowned name in aerospace technologies. It will offer comprehensive MRO services while nurturing Emirati talent. Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of Tawazun Council, stated that this initiative aligns with their vision for industrial growth, focusing on enhancing the UAE's capabilities in aerospace.

Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri, CEO of Mubadala’s UAE Investments Platform, emphasised that this collaboration exemplifies their commitment to building national champions in aerospace. He noted that partnering with world-class entities like Pratt & Whitney accelerates Abu Dhabi’s economic transformation and supports the UAE's diversification strategy.

Ismail Ali Abdulla, Executive Director of UAE Clusters at Mubadala's UAE Investments Platform, highlighted the significance of this MRO partnership. He mentioned that it plays a crucial role in creating a knowledge-based economy and strengthens the UAE's aerospace industry by fostering innovation and generating high-quality jobs for Emiratis.
