Tawazun Reports AED 24.4 Billion In Defence Contracts During Dubai Airshow

The Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement (Tawazun) has announced the signing of seven new contracts on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. These agreements, revealed during the fourth day of the Dubai Airshow 2025, amount to AED 6.427 billion. This development highlights Tawazun's role in enhancing the UAE’s defence and security industrial ecosystem.

Over the first four days of the exhibition, 27 contracts were signed for the Ministry of Defence and Abu Dhabi Police. These deals have a combined value of AED 24.443 billion, showcasing strong collaboration between Tawazun and its partners in both local and international defence sectors.

Tawazun Secures AED 24.4 Billion in Deals

Abdulla Ahmed Al Saeedi, one of the Council's spokespersons, provided details about local contracts signed on the fourth day. These included four agreements worth AED 6.258 billion. Among them was a significant contract with Calidus to procure and supply Al Heda for AED 6.142 billion.

Internationally, three contracts were signed on the same day, totalling AED 169.616 million. These included a deal with Thales from France to procure thermal weapon sights valued at AED 75.966 million and another with CS Group for systems worth AED 32.240 million.

Manea Abdulkarim Al Mansoori highlighted that these achievements reflect the UAE’s vision for an integrated defence sector driven by innovation and strategy. He noted that Tawazun fosters a competitive environment for private sector involvement, boosting UAE’s capabilities in aviation, space, and defence.

The international agreements also featured a contract with MBDA to provide follow-on support and spare parts repair for MICA, Black Shaheen, and Mistral systems used in aircraft, valued at AED 61.410 million.

These developments underscore UAE’s position as a global hub for advanced technologies and future industries. The strategic partnerships formed during this event are pivotal in advancing UAE's defence capabilities on a global scale.
