Tatarstan Ruler Lauds UAE’s Role In Fostering Global Tolerance And Peace
Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, commended President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for bolstering international security and peace. He highlighted the UAE's initiatives promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence. "The UAE has become an example and a role model in this regard, and an oasis for coexistence between different nationalities," Minnikhanov stated during a recent reception for a UAE delegation.
The event took place at Minnikhanov's residence, with notable guests including Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, and Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of the Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities (MBZUH). During the gathering, Minnikhanov awarded the Republic’s Medal of Honour to MBZUH for its contributions to spreading values of tolerance and coexistence globally.

Meanwhile, religious leaders from BRICS nations attended the 5th "Religious Silk Road: Significance of Religious Values in Greater Eurasia International Scientific and Theological" Conference in Kazan. They expressed support for global peace efforts. The conference was organised by MBZUH and the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia.
In their closing statement, participants emphasised religions' roles in fostering dialogue, harmonious coexistence, friendly relations among nations, and mutual respect between different countries and religions. Mufti Sheikh Rawi Ain al-Din, head of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia and chairman of the Shura Council of Muftis of Russia, was present alongside the university chancellor.
Delegates discussed enhancing BRICS' role to achieve its goals. They underscored religions' importance in promoting dialogue and harmonious coexistence. Attendees urged BRICS leaders to strengthen ties within the geopolitical and trade bloc for mutual benefit.
Call for Integration and Cooperation
The statement called for increased integration and cooperation among BRICS countries based on shared religious and moral values. This approach aims at reconstruction while respecting cultural and religious diversity. The statement also stressed that Islam, like other Abrahamic religions, does not tolerate terrorism in any form.
Participants expressed gratitude to Russian Federation leadership for chairing BRICS. They wished success for the upcoming summit in Kazan. Established to facilitate trade among member countries, BRICS also fosters cultural and humanitarian ties. It has grown into an influential cooperation platform.
The conference concluded with delegates addressing significant topics to enhance BRICS' role in achieving its objectives. They highlighted religions' roles in enabling dialogue and harmonious coexistence while calling on BRICS leaders to strengthen ties within the bloc.
