Tarshid Subsidiary Partners With SAL Logistics To Enhance Energy Efficiency During Saudi Green Initiative Forum

Tarshid, under the leadership of Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, has entered a strategic partnership with SAL Logistics Services. This collaboration was formalised during the Saudi Green Initiative Forum and COP16 Conference. The primary goal is to boost energy efficiency within SAL's facilities by conducting an in-depth study to implement optimal solutions. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, focusing on energy sustainability and resource conservation.

The agreement involves comprehensive on-site surveys and technical studies to apply energy efficiency standards at SAL facilities. Tarshid's CEO, Waled Abdullah Al-Ghreri, highlighted the importance of private sector partnerships in transforming buildings across the Kingdom into sustainable and energy-efficient structures. He stated: "Our partnership with the private sector plays a pivotal role in achieving our goal of transforming all buildings in the Kingdom into more sustainable and energy-efficient structures."

SAL Chief Shared Services Officer Eng. Abdulazeez Al-Sharif expressed that this collaboration marks a significant step towards sustainability for SAL. He noted: "This collaboration with Tarshid represents a strategic step in our journey toward sustainability." The aim is to set a pioneering example in energy efficiency within the logistics sector, aligning with Vision 2030's environmental goals.

Tarshid has been instrumental in promoting energy efficiency since its inception in 2017. By the third quarter of 2024, it achieved annual energy savings of 7.3 TWh through various projects. This achievement equates to conserving over 11.7 million barrels of oil equivalent and preventing approximately 4.2 million metric tons of emissions, akin to planting over 69.4 million seedlings each year.

The signing of this agreement coincided with the start of this year's Saudi Green Initiative Forum and COP16, highlighting Tarshid's leadership in advancing sustainability across both governmental and private sectors. The company's efforts are crucial for achieving Saudi Vision 2030's strategic goals related to energy savings and carbon emission reduction.
