Tarshid Completes Solar Panel Installation At King Abdulaziz Complex For Holy Kaaba In Makkah
The National Energy Services Company (Tarshid) and the King Abdulaziz Complex for Holy Kaaba Kiswa in Makkah have successfully installed solar panels across the complex's buildings. This project, with a capacity of 180 kilowatts, is projected to save around 305,000 kilowatt-hours of energy annually. The initiative aims to enhance energy efficiency by generating solar power for on-site use.
By installing these solar systems, the project targets an annual energy consumption reduction from 1.5 million to 1.2 million kilowatt-hours. This decrease equates to saving over 486 barrels of oil equivalent and preventing about 173 metric tons of carbon emissions. The environmental benefit is comparable to planting more than 2,800 seedlings each year.

Waled Al-Ghreri, Board Member and CEO of Tarshid, stated that extensive field surveys and technical studies were conducted before installation. These assessments underscored the necessity of improving energy efficiency through rooftop solar panels. This approach allows for on-site electricity generation, providing clean energy directly to the buildings.
