TAQA Reveals New Unified Brand Identity And Customer-Focused Strategy

Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) has unveiled a new brand identity for its group of companies. This significant change marks a milestone in TAQA's transformation and growth, aligning with its strategy to expand through integrated power and water services both locally and globally.

TAQA announced that Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) and Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC) will merge under the new brand, TAQA Distribution. This unified entity will serve customers across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, enhancing customer services, developing new products, and seeking growth opportunities within the UAE and internationally.

TAQA's New Brand and Strategy

Jasim Husain Thabet, TAQA's Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, commented, "In the past four years we have been driving improvements in the performance of TAQA's operating companies and growing our business." He emphasised that these brand changes will significantly boost awareness and understanding of TAQA's extensive role in Abu Dhabi.

The rebranding extends to other wholly-owned subsidiaries. Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company (TRANSCO) will now be known as TAQA Transmission, focusing on power and water transmission infrastructure. Sustainable Water Solutions Holdings (SWS Holdings) will become TAQA Water Solutions, managing wastewater treatment and recycled water production in Abu Dhabi.

Omar Al Hashmi, incoming CEO of TAQA Distribution, stated, "ADDC and AADC have powered our communities for decades, ensuring that essential energy and water is delivered to every home in Abu Dhabi. Unifying the two will create a distribution powerhouse with the scale and capability to support TAQA's overarching mission of being a low-carbon power and water champion."

Commitment to Excellence

Al Hashmi added that customers will notice the new TAQA Distribution brand on their electricity and water bills starting January 2025. The rebrand aims to build on operational excellence while focusing on digital advancements and strategic partnerships to support long-term growth aligned with sustainability goals.

TAQA Energy Services will replace Abu Dhabi Energy Services (ADES), providing tailored energy management solutions. This restructuring is expected to increase awareness of TAQA's utility activities, supporting its growth ambitions as a national champion in the UAE.

"Our increased visibility and awareness will support our continued efforts to grow in the UAE and internationally as prospective partners will more readily understand the full extent of what we can do," Thabet stated. He highlighted that TAQA's operations are integral to daily life for millions globally through their power and water services.

The integration under a single brand aims to enhance service delivery while fostering innovation within the organisation. The move also aligns with TAQA's commitment to operational efficiency, maintaining world-class standards across its distribution networks.

This new branding structure underscores TAQA’s ambition to lead in low-carbon power and water solutions. It strengthens operational efficiency by integrating various segments like generation, transmission, distribution, water solutions, and energy services under one cohesive identity.

The rebranding initiative is part of TAQA’s broader strategy to position itself as a leader in sustainable utility services. By consolidating its brands, TAQA aims to streamline operations while enhancing service quality for its customers.

The changes reflect TAQA’s dedication to supporting the UAE’s drive towards net zero emissions. The company remains committed to playing a pivotal role in the global energy transition through its comprehensive utility services.
