Grand Mosque Hosts Tahajjud Prayer In Ramadan's Final Stretch
On the first night of the last ten days of Ramadan, worshippers gathered at the Grand Mosque to perform Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers, marking a period of intensified devotion. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) captured the influx of worshippers from early morning, filling the hallways, squares, courtyards, and roads leading to the Grand Mosque. The scenes depicted were ones of tranquility and reverence, with worshippers and Quran readers immersed in a serene atmosphere. This comes as part of the comprehensive services provided by the Saudi government, ensuring that those in attendance could engage in their spiritual practices in comfort.
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has been instrumental in preparing for this significant period. In collaboration with various departments and related authorities, they have ensured that all facilities within the Grand Mosque are ready to accommodate worshippers and Umrah performers. This preparation includes providing essential services that allow for a smooth and comfortable worship experience.

To support these efforts, over 4,000 workers, under the supervision of 200 Saudi supervisors, have been deployed to offer round-the-clock cleaning services. These teams are equipped with advanced equipment and machines to maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the mosque premises. Furthermore, the authority has made available 3,516 restrooms and 9,155 Zamzam water containers daily to cater to the needs of the faithful. Additionally, more than 35,000 new carpets have been laid out across all praying areas within the Grand Mosque and its courtyards to enhance the comfort of worshippers.
Understanding the diverse needs of those attending, provisions have also been made for individuals requiring mobility assistance. A total of 3,000 wheelchairs and 2,000 electric wheelchairs have been provided. Moreover, 6,000 personnel are on hand to assist with pushing wheelchairs, ensuring that all worshippers can participate in prayers and rituals without hindrance.
This extensive preparation underscores the commitment of the Saudi government to facilitate a conducive environment for worship during one of the most sacred times in the Islamic calendar. Through these efforts, worshippers can fully immerse themselves in prayer and reflection at the Grand Mosque, supported by an integrated system of services designed for their ease and comfort.
