Tabuk's Extensive Road Network Of Over 8,000 Km Drives Connectivity And Regional Progress

The Tabuk branch of the Roads General Authority has developed a vast road network spanning over 8,000 km and built more than 200 bridges. This infrastructure is vital for supporting commercial, tourist, and social activities. It connects the region to major projects like NEOM, AMAALA, and The Red Sea, and serves pilgrims traveling from northern areas to the two holy mosques.

Tabuk is strategically positioned in northwest Saudi Arabia, sharing borders with Jordan to the north, Al-Jouf and Hail regions to the east, Madinah region to the south, and the Red Sea to the west. Its varied landscape of deserts, mountains, and coastlines highlights the importance of its road network in linking it with other parts of the Kingdom.

Tabuk's Road Network Enhances Connectivity

The strategic location of Tabuk enhances its connectivity with Jordan and further extends links to countries in the east and north. Over recent years, numerous logistical projects have been executed in Tabuk. These initiatives have provided services that benefit both residents and travelers passing through this region.

In the past decade, 33 projects have been completed in Tabuk at a total cost exceeding SAR2.4 billion. The authority's strategy aims at enhancing road quality, safety, and traffic capacity. This effort seeks to improve Saudi Arabia's standing on the global road quality index while reducing road fatalities to below five per 100,000 people by 2030.

To manage roads efficiently, advanced technologies are being employed by the Roads General Authority. They use sophisticated surveying and evaluation equipment. A fleet of 18 pieces of equipment utilizes AI technology to continuously monitor and assess the condition of roads across the network.

Tabuk's infrastructure development plays a crucial role in connecting it with significant national projects. This development also supports religious tourism by facilitating pilgrim travel routes from northern regions towards sacred sites. The ongoing improvements reflect a commitment to enhancing transportation safety and efficiency within Saudi Arabia.
