Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa Explores AI Initiatives At SDAIA Headquarters During Saudi Visit

President Ahmed al-Sharaa of the Syrian Arab Republic, along with Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, recently visited the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) headquarters. This visit was part of President al-Sharaa's trip to Saudi Arabia. They were welcomed by several high-ranking officials, including Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban, Abdullah Alswaha, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi.

During the visit, President al-Sharaa explored SDAIA's technical facilities focused on data and artificial intelligence. Dr. Al-Ghamdi provided insights into Saudi Arabia's initiatives in these areas, which align with Saudi Vision 2030. This vision is led by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Syrian President Visits SDAIA Headquarters

The Kingdom aims to create a national economy driven by data and become a global leader in artificial intelligence. Dr. Al-Ghamdi emphasized the importance of using data and AI technologies across various sectors to improve service accessibility for citizens, residents, pilgrims, and Umrah performers.

One notable initiative is the "Tawakkalna" application, which enhances service delivery through digital means. The presentation also included contributions from entities in the digital economy sector, National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), and Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), highlighting their respective roles.

Accompanying President al-Sharaa were Saudi Minister of State Mohammed bin Abdulmalik Al Al-Sheikh and Saudi Ambassador to Syria Faisal Al-Mujfel. Their presence underscored the significance of this diplomatic engagement between Syria and Saudi Arabia.

The visit highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to leveraging technology for national development as part of its broader strategic goals under Vision 2030. The collaboration between different authorities showcased a unified approach towards achieving these objectives.
