The Sultan Of Oman To Strengthen Ties With Kuwait Through Official Visit
The Sultan of Oman, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, is poised to embark on an official journey to Kuwait on Monday, marking a significant diplomatic engagement. This visit, his first since ascending the throne in January 2020, is set to fortify the ties between Oman and Kuwait through high-level discussions with His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait.
Earlier this year, in February, a reciprocal state visit was conducted by His Highness Sheikh Meshal to Oman. This visit was notable for the inauguration of the Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Project within the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, overseen by His Majesty Sultan Haitham and His Highness Sheikh Meshal. This initiative represents a significant stride in the economic partnership between the two nations.

On the eve of His Majesty Sultan Haitham's visit, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Oman, Dr. Mohammad Al-Hajri, underscored the dynamic and evolving nature of Kuwait-Oman relations, emphasizing their continual growth and development across various domains. Dr. Al-Hajri, speaking to Kuwait's state news agency KUNA, expressed optimism that Sheikh Meshal's upcoming visit would further propel the bilateral relations towards enhanced progress and prosperity.
Oman's Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharousi, also remarked on the economic synergies between the two countries, particularly highlighting the Duqm project's inauguration as a monumental milestone and a source of national pride for both nations. "It is an embodiment of the deep-rooted relations between them," Dr. Al-Kharousi commented, acknowledging the project as the largest investment in the oil sector shared between two Gulf countries.
The visit of Sultan Haitham to Kuwait underscores a continued commitment to bolstering diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations, with both sides expressing a shared vision for future prosperity and development.
