Sheikh Sultan Bin Hamdan Launches New Emirates NBD Branch And Operations Centre In Al Ain
A new Emirates NBD branch and operations centre has been opened at Al Ain Square, near Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain. This initiative was led by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Al Ain Football Club, under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region.
The facilities were developed in collaboration with the Central Bank of the UAE and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation as part of the Nafis initiative. This aligns with Emirates NBD's strategy to expand its presence in Al Ain and its commitment to Emiratisation since its inception.
Sheikh Sultan praised efforts that bolster the UAE's economic and social growth. He noted that this project showcases Emirates NBD's dedication to empowering Emirati talent while expanding its footprint in Al Ain. The new branch is designed to meet LEED energy and environmental standards.
The branch will offer a range of banking services such as trade finance, banking compliance, business accounts, and credit services. Once fully operational, it will handle over 350,000 transactions annually.
Currently, the centre employs 109 Emirati men and women. There are plans to increase this number to 400 within three years. This expansion is part of Emirates NBD's broader strategy in Al Ain, where it already operates five branches—two under Emirates NBD and three under Emirates Islamic.
Emirates NBD management has reiterated its aim to achieve a 45 percent Emiratisation rate within its workforce by 2026. This commitment underscores their long-standing dedication to integrating more Emiratis into their operations.
The opening of this new facility marks a significant step in Emirates NBD's expansion plans in Al Ain. It reflects their ongoing efforts to support local economic development while providing enhanced banking services tailored to meet community needs.
