Sultan Bin Ahmed Explores Sharjah's Digital Innovations At GITEX Global 2025

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Communication Technologies Authority, attended GITEX Global 2025. This event, one of the largest in technology and innovation, is held from 13th to 17th October at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The Deputy Ruler explored the Sharjah Government pavilion, which showcases 20 government entities under the theme "Human-Centred Technological Integration."

The pavilion highlights Sharjah's digital journey and its human-focused future vision. H.H. Sheikh Sultan learned about innovative digital experiences and technology projects aimed at enhancing digital integration in Sharjah. These initiatives seek to improve government services and quality of life in line with Sharjah’s sustainable, human-focused digital future vision.

Among the projects showcased was the "Mada" system, an advanced simulation platform for rainwater accumulation in Sharjah using meteorological data. It provides three-dimensional visualisations of rainwater pooling across the city, identifying affected buildings like schools and hospitals. This system supports Sharjah’s smart city agenda by optimising water use as a vital resource.

Another initiative presented was "Nabni," an electronic platform offering unified services for engineering and construction across all Sharjah municipalities. It includes 129 services covering the entire construction process with participation from 35 federal and local entities. The platform aims to re-engineer services, reduce documentation, and enhance data integration among government entities.

The "Aqari" project was also reviewed by H.H. Sheikh Sultan. This initiative aims to provide accurate information about Sharjah’s real estate sector, enhancing customer experience by offering services that exceed expectations. It offers a centralised digital platform for real estate services in Sharjah, enabling relevant entities to provide their services through a single portal.

The Deputy Ruler concluded his visit by attending the Artificial Intelligence Applications for Infrastructure Development Hackathon competition at the pavilion. This event is part of the Sharjah Digital Hackathon initiative, supporting government innovation by developing youth talents in AI-driven solutions for infrastructure flexibility.

Digital Transformation Efforts

At the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) stand, H.H. Sheikh Sultan learned about new digital services supporting the UAE’s digital transformation journey. The "Ask Us" initiative offers interactive government services via WhatsApp powered by artificial intelligence, while another initiative fosters government innovation through advanced research environments.

The Smart Government Assistant initiative was introduced as well, enabling government entities to develop intelligent digital agents aligned with UAE Digital Vision 2031. An interactive presentation on Zero Bureaucracy aimed at simplifying procedures was also viewed.

Maritime Communication Advancements

The Chairman visited du's stand where he learned about marine communication services provided via Starlink maritime satellites. These services ensure reliable connectivity at sea, reinforcing UAE's position as a global maritime hub while enabling shipping operations' digital transformation.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan also explored du’s Artificial Intelligence Hub showcasing data centre capabilities driving sovereign AI innovation in a nationally compliant environment equipped with advanced technologies for high-performance AI workloads.

Mobility Innovations

During his tour of e& UAE's stand, H.H. Sheikh Sultan was briefed on innovations in mobility including aerial transport, electric air taxis, connected mobility technologies, and retail transport advancements. Demonstrations included humanoid robots for social and customer service roles.

He received explanations on advanced fifth-generation (5G) networks along with Industrial 5G Gateway technologies and Internet of Things eSIM solutions covering cybersecurity aspects as well as oil & gas sectors among others.

The visit included Sheikh Saud bin Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi; Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed; Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri; alongside senior officials from participating entities.
