Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Witnesses Signing Of Partnerships For Government Excellence Training Programmes

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, attended the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for the Knowledge Partnerships Programme for Government Performance and Excellence. This initiative aims to train specialists in government excellence. The event was part of the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025 in Abu Dhabi.

The MoUs were signed by several academic institutions to develop the "Certified Assessor in Government Excellence – Individual Assessment" programme. The Prime Minister’s Office collaborated with the University of Sharjah, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme, and Rabdan Academy. Additionally, a joint document was signed with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and the UAE Government Leaders Programme.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi highlighted that these MoUs reflect the University of Sharjah’s dedication to supporting UAE's government excellence framework. The university aims to nurture national talent according to high professional standards, promoting quality and innovation in institutional work. This prepares individuals capable of leading improvements across various sectors.

The Certified Assessor programme is a significant step towards building national capabilities for evaluating performance based on scientific foundations aligned with Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme standards. Sheikh Sultan emphasised the university's role as an active partner in supporting national strategies and fostering collaboration between academic institutions, government bodies, and private sectors for sustainable development.

According to the MoUs, all parties will develop content and implement training programmes like the Certified Assessor in Government Excellence – Individual Assessment. This programme will qualify participants from federal, local, and private sectors to work as assessors using approved evaluation criteria and tools. It includes feedback reports and presentations before judging panels for transparent evaluations supported by documentation.

During the MoU signing event, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi visited the Artificial Intelligence Experiences Pavilion at the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025. He explored innovative technologies and AI applications showcased by government entities aimed at accelerating achievement, simplifying procedures, and enhancing service quality.

AI Integration in Government Services

Sheikh Sultan received explanations from pavilion representatives on AI integration into government operations to boost efficiency and smart government experiences. This aligns with UAE’s vision for digital transformation and future government services. He learned about improved government services through AI integration that made them faster, more accurate, and accessible to the public.

The briefing included insights on how AI enhances service quality while reducing time and effort. It optimises performance reflecting ongoing efforts to create a smart service ecosystem aligned with UAE’s digital transformation goals.

The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures including Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations; Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of Statistics and Community Development; Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director-General of Sharjah Digital Department; Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development; Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to UAE President; Mattar Al Tayer from Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University; among other senior officials.
