Sultan Bin Ahmed Explores Enhanced Cooperation Between Sharjah Media Council And Federal Authority For Identity
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, recently met with Major General Arif Mohammed Al Shamsi. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the Sharjah Media Council (SMC) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP). This took place at the Sharjah Media Council building in Al Rahmaniyah Suburb.
The meeting explored services provided to customers, emphasising identity, nationality, residency, visas, and other offerings. Discussions included procedures for delivering these services through smart platforms that ensure quick and accurate transactions. Cooperation between the Authority and the Council aims to highlight development efforts and enhance public communication via modern media platforms.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed praised the Federal Authority's role in improving government services related to identity, nationality, and residency. He highlighted that their innovative initiatives align with national digital transformation goals. These efforts provide high-quality services that meet societal needs and expectations while benefiting customers.
During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed toured the building lobby to understand plans for developing digital services and modern technologies approved by the Authority. These advancements aim to enhance customer experiences and improve government service systems.
On the sidelines of the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed inaugurated the "Al Qasimia Library" at the Federal Authority's centre in Sharjah. This electronic library serves employees and visitors, accommodating around 50 people with a visual identity titled "Iqra". It offers electronic books linked to Sharjah libraries across various fields.
The e-library allows visitors access using smart cards scanned from electronic devices. It provides information on available books, service facilities, and borrowing systems. Accurate visitor statistics are collected to study usage patterns and improve library services.
Exploring Cultural Facilities
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed visited a theatre seating 385 people within the centre. He observed modern technologies supporting activities for both the Authority and other organisations. An explanation was given on equipment operations including lighting and sound systems for hosting seminars, lectures, cultural events, and media gatherings.
A corner dedicated to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi features writings in various languages in collaboration with Al Qasimi Publications. The library includes a visual section highlighting fundamental sciences like aeronautics, law, mathematics, science, and Islamic law.
Commitment to Integrated Work Systems
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed emphasised that cooperation among government institutions reflects leadership's vision of an integrated work system enhancing service delivery. He commended teams working in this field for their responsibility and commitment to providing top-notch customer experiences aligned with international standards.
A visual presentation showcased benefits of the Authority's centre in Sharjah along with its customer services and main facilities supporting its role in Service Centres Evaluation System.
The library also features a café, reading rooms, brain games rooms used for brainstorming sessions supporting learning staff in enhancing scientific knowledge by integrating past knowledge with modern insights.
