The event opened with the UAE national anthem and Qur’an recitation, before the University of Sharjah Chancellor, Dr. Essam Al Din Ajami, delivered a detailed address. Dr. Essam thanked H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for setting the university’s clear vision and mission, focused on building individuals grounded in ethics and values alongside academic knowledge.
During the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi personally awarded certificates to all 476 graduates from undergraduate programmes. The students represented a wide range of specialisations, reflecting the University of Sharjah’s broad academic portfolio and its role in preparing graduates for different professional fields across the UAE and the wider region.

Addressing the graduates, Dr. Essam focused on the shift from academic study to practical contribution. Dr. Essam said, "Today, you are standing on the threshold of a real stage, where science is moving from the realm of achievement to the space of application, from the classroom to the fields of life, and from theory to tangible reality in cognitive life. You have acquired knowledge and been trained in scientific methodology. Now it is time to translate this science into tangible effect, this knowledge into added value, and this effort into a service to the community."
The Chancellor stressed that the University of Sharjah is defined by its educational purpose rather than its physical campus. He explained that UOS aims to connect knowledge with values and direct research toward real-life issues, while treating every student as an active partner in shaping the future, rather than a passive recipient of information.
Elaborating further, Dr. Essam stated that UOS has built a recognised academic profile at local and regional levels. He told students that they leave a university with "qualitative leadership" and strong reputation, and described the moment as a turning point where graduates move from lecture halls into roles that influence wider society and public life.
Speaking to the students as they prepared for working life, Ajami gave clear advice. Ajami said, "Preserve your identity and be open to the world. You are graduates of a global university in the heart of the United Arab Emirates, where originality and modernity combine. Carry your values and identity wherever you go, and at the same time be open to the world's cultures and experiences, as the balance between roots and wings is the secret of success in a globalised world."
University of Sharjah graduation recognition for families and staff
During the University of Sharjah graduation speech, the Chancellor devoted part of his address to the families. He emphasised that parents were "the main pillar and the real partners" in the education process, noting their patience, financial and moral support, and describing the graduates’ success as a shared achievement that belongs to the families as much as to the students.
Ajami also acknowledged faculty members and academic staff, praising their commitment to teaching, mentoring and building character. He highlighted their role in passing on knowledge, values and ethics, stating that they form a core foundation for preparing new generations and that their efforts remain a source of institutional pride for the university community.
Concluding his message to the class of Fall 2025, the Chancellor expressed trust in the graduates’ abilities. He said, "We are confident in your abilities, optimistic about your future, and proud of you. Remember that true success is not measured only by what you achieve for yourselves, but also by the impact you leave on the lives of others." He then asked God to bless their knowledge and guide their steps.
University of Sharjah graduation student perspective and future roles
From the students’ side, Abdullah Yousef Al Sayegh, a graduate from the College of Business Administration, addressed the audience on behalf of the class. Al Sayegh described the occasion as the peak of a long academic journey filled with learning and experience, where students advanced from simple achievement to responsibility in real professional and social environments.
Al Sayegh underlined that this success depended on the University of Sharjah’s steady guidance and backing. He thanked the university’s founder, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for continued focus on science and the humanities, and also thanked H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for ongoing support to UOS and its students.
The graduate highlighted the contribution of the university’s academic and administrative teams, describing how their expertise, knowledge and values shaped student personalities. He noted that this support strengthened students’ research abilities and critical thinking, helping them to grow intellectually while also grounding them in principles that they will carry into future workplaces and community roles.
Al Sayegh closed his remarks by stating that the graduates depart with knowledge, responsibility and firm values. Al Sayegh pledged that they would act as "the best ambassadors for the University of Sharjah in the workplace and in giving," and affirmed their commitment to serving the community and helping to build the future through a positive and lasting contribution.
At the end of the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi extended congratulations to all 476 graduates and wished them success in their upcoming careers and lives. The University of Sharjah graduation therefore marked both recognition of past effort and the beginning of a new phase of service and participation in society for the Fall 2025 class.
