Sultan Bin Ahmed Celebrates New Graduates At University Of Sharjah Medical Ceremony
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, attended a graduation ceremony for medical and health sciences students. The event was held at University City Hall in Sharjah. During the ceremony, 453 students from various medical colleges received their graduation certificates.
The ceremony began with the UAE national anthem and Quranic verses. Dr Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, expressed gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi for his support and presence. He congratulated the graduates on joining the healthcare field as qualified professionals.
Dr Agamy highlighted the university's achievements in medical education and its role in community health advancement. He mentioned that under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, an Integrated Healthcare Complex was established in 2004. This complex includes colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Health Sciences.
The chancellor noted that this facility is more than just academic; it fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and prepares skilled healthcare teams. Since its inception, over 4,500 doctors, dentists, and pharmacists have graduated from this complex.
Dr Agamy emphasised that effective healthcare relies on teamwork among doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and other specialists. He stated that successful treatment depends on seamless collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
He also stressed that excellence in healthcare systems is due to role integration and strong coordination among all elements rather than just advanced technology or individual expertise.
Graduates' Future Impact
Addressing graduates from various specialisations like health administration and nursing, Dr Agamy highlighted their crucial roles in improving public well-being. He called them ambassadors of a forward-looking vision and future leaders of meaningful change.
"You have chosen a noble path—one rooted in humanitarian service," he said. The university takes pride in producing graduates equipped to positively impact healthcare systems globally.
