Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi Explores Cultural Significance Of Cairo's Opera House
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, recently toured the Opera House in Egypt's New Administrative Capital. This venue is a major cultural and artistic site in the Middle East. During his visit, he explored its halls and admired the unique designs and historic murals.
The Opera House features various facilities, including halls for opera, music, and drama theatres. It also has training rooms and backstage areas. The main hall can accommodate 2,200 people across four levels. It is equipped to host world-class performances like orchestras, ballet, opera, and international circuses.
The music hall can seat 1,200 spectators on three levels. It meets high international standards and includes advanced technology for orchestras. A notable feature is its pipe organ with 4,044 pipes, capable of playing diverse music types while using technology to absorb unwanted sounds.
The drama hall seats 650 people on two levels and is designed for plays and talk shows. It includes advanced technology such as multi-language translation and automatic broadcasting to satellite channels. The hall also boasts state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.
During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Sultan wrote in the guestbook: "I was honoured to visit the City of Arts and Culture. I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all those responsible for this magnificent cultural landmark."
Visit Highlights
The main hall's design includes two movable towers that provide additional space when needed. This flexibility allows it to host a variety of performances efficiently. The venue's design ensures it can support diverse artistic events with ease.
The visit concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields between H.H. Sheikh Sultan and the Egyptian delegation. A group photo session was also held to mark the occasion.
