Sultan Al Qasimi Officially Opens Sharjah Falconers Club Featuring Advanced Training Facilities
H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, officially opened the Sharjah Falconers Club in Al Burair. Upon arrival, H.H. unveiled a memorial plaque to mark the occasion. The club's administrative building features a lecture hall, a training centre for wireless gliding and drone simulation, a falconers’ library, administrative offices, and a lounge for falconers.
The Ruler of Sharjah explored an exhibition showcasing essential falconry tools and the latest devices used in competitions. He interacted with students participating in the club's training programmes, learning about their theoretical lessons and simulation rooms equipped with advanced systems for honing falconry skills.
During discussions with the Chairman and Board Members of the Falconers Club, H.H. was informed about expansion plans and efforts to achieve titles in various championships. A presentation on the Sharjah Bird Breeding Centre project highlighted how it will help falconers acquire birds more easily while ensuring proper care and health management.
H.H. approved the establishment of the Sharjah Falcon Breeding Centre in collaboration with the University of Al Dhaid. This project aims to create a natural environment conducive to bird mating, breeding, and comprehensive health care for different bird species.
The surrounding area of the club has been designated as a protected zone to facilitate falconry activities safely. This decision ensures a suitable environment for training while preserving local wildlife.
The Board of Directors expressed gratitude to H.H. for his support, which has enabled the club to achieve significant accomplishments in various competitions. They acknowledged his contributions towards creating advanced facilities that nurture interest in bird breeding and falconry among new generations.
Honouring Achievements
The Ruler of Sharjah honoured successful falconers by presenting them with the Distinguished Falconer Shield for their achievements in local and international competitions. He encouraged them to continue striving for more titles.
H.H. also visited the Sharjah Falconers Club Clinic, noted as the largest in the Arabian Gulf region. The clinic offers comprehensive healthcare services with state-of-the-art equipment including a laboratory, feather splinting room, operating room, CT scan machine, and a centre selling falconry sports gear.
Advanced Healthcare Facilities
The clinic provides thorough examination procedures starting from initial checks to advanced diagnostics like endoscopy and fungal analysis. It also offers periodic examinations, mobile clinics, and health awareness programmes for birds.
H.H. then toured "Al Muqayd" falcon shelter which can house 500 birds. Designed with high health standards, it includes air purifiers and sensors to maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels suitable for Siberian birds.
Cultural Heritage Preservation
The Sharjah Falconers Club stands as a symbol of heritage reflecting ancient falconry traditions while promoting these values to future generations. It aims to offer an enriching environment where enthusiasts can practice their hobby while sharing knowledge.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi from the Department of Public Works, Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi from Protocol and Hospitality Department, Issa Hilal Al Hazami from Sports Council, Mohammed bin Halis Al Ketbi from Al Batayeh Municipal Council, Mohammed Khalifa Al Badawi from Falconers Club Board of Directors along with other sports sector officials.
