Sultan Al Jaber Celebrates Ramadan Iftar With ADNOC Employees At Zirku Island

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, recently visited Zirku Island. This island is situated 140 km northwest of Abu Dhabi. The visit was for an Iftar gathering with ADNOC Offshore’s team during Ramadan, celebrating their contributions to ADNOC's strategic goals in the UAE Year of Community.

Zirku Island has been a vital part of ADNOC's operations since 1983, serving as a key offshore processing and export hub. Dr. Al Jaber expressed gratitude from the UAE leadership for the island's significant role in creating long-term value for the nation. He highlighted the importance of the workforce, especially Emirati employees managing plant control rooms on Zirku and Das Islands.

The visit also acknowledged ADNOC Offshore’s outstanding safety performance and dedication to achieving 100% Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards. The team plays a crucial role in advancing major decarbonisation projects. Over 25,000 direct hires and contractors work daily across ADNOC Offshore, fostering a culture of care while supporting the 'Make it in the Emirates' initiative.

Zirku Island is home to over 5,000 workers and is at the forefront of using artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies to enhance performance. This aligns with ADNOC’s ambition to become the world’s most AI-enabled energy company. The site focuses on operational excellence, safety, and sustainability while providing energy globally.

Dr. Al Jaber emphasised that supported by UAE leadership's vision, ADNOC will continue leveraging technology and AI to strengthen its position as a reliable low-carbon energy leader. He added that this approach demonstrates how ADNOC delivers on its promise to create lasting socioeconomic value for the UAE.
