Makkah's Deputy Governor: Strict Hajj Permit Rules To Ensure Pilgrim Safety
In a significant move to regulate the Hajj pilgrimage, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region and Vice Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee, has declared that no pilgrim will be allowed to perform Hajj without a permit. This announcement was made during the inauguration of the "Hajj is Worship and Civilized Behavior" campaign's sixteenth season, launched under the directive "No Hajj Without a Permit." The event saw the presence of numerous dignitaries and officials from various authorities.
The campaign, initiated on behalf of Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Region, and Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee, Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, aims to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims by enforcing strict regulations against unauthorized participants. Prince Saud bin Mishaal expressed his gratitude towards the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for their unwavering support and dedication to facilitating a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience.

Prince Saud bin Mishaal lauded the efforts of all committees and authorities involved in preparing for the Hajj season. He highlighted the campaign's role in preventing unauthorized pilgrimages, which has led to a decrease in irregular pilgrims and fraudulent campaigns. This initiative has significantly contributed to enhancing the spiritual environment for pilgrims, allowing them to perform their rituals in comfort and tranquility.
Furthermore, Prince Saud bin Mishaal called for enhanced coordination among all sectors involved in Hajj operations. He emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations and ensuring that violations are not tolerated. The Saudi Council of Senior Scholars' statement, which prohibits performing Hajj without a permit, was also praised for its consideration of the ritual's sanctity and the safety of Muslims.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Bassami, Director of Public Security, affirmed the readiness of Hajj security forces to maintain order and confront any threats. He stressed that violators would face detention and penalties as per regulations. Al-Bassami also mentioned ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah regarding special identification cards for pilgrims and plans to inspect accommodation facilities in Makkah.
