Orphan Associations Across The Kingdom Strengthened As Eastern Region Governor Backs Capacity-building Initiative
Eastern Region Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz sponsored a ceremony at the principality diwan on 13:36 GMT, honouring supporters of the seventh orphan associations capacity-building and expertise exchange initiative. The event included five new cooperation agreements and the launch of the "Aytamna" partnerships platform for orphan care organisations.
The initiative, organised by the Charity Society for Orphan Care in Eastern Region (Benaa), gathered 110 participants. They represented 48 orphan care associations from different parts of the Kingdom, highlighting wide sector involvement and ongoing efforts to coordinate programmes that support orphans through shared knowledge and institutional development.

Benaa Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Eng. Khalid Al-Zamil said the seventh edition of the orphan associations initiative shows the leadership’s attention to the non-profit sector. The initiative aims to strengthen institutions, refine their tools, and support their developmental role through more organised and effective work models.
Eng. Khalid Al-Zamil explained that these efforts help create more efficient and sustainable operating models for orphan associations. They also highlight the importance of investing in people, building skills inside organisations, and achieving greater social impact through better-designed services for beneficiaries in all regions of Saudi Arabia.
According to Eng. Khalid Al-Zamil, this edition of the orphan associations initiative focuses on shaping the future of orphan associations through artificial intelligence and digital transformation. The programme supports the exchange of expertise, promotes professional standards, and improves operational efficiency across the non-profit sector.
These goals, he noted, are linked to a wider national effort to strengthen institutional work. The initiative aims to achieve a lasting positive effect on service quality for orphans, while keeping pace with rapid changes in this vital sector and aligning with broader development priorities in the Kingdom.
