Strata Manufacturing Partners With Airbus To Produce Ailerons For A320 Family Aircraft

Strata Manufacturing PJSC, a company owned by Mubadala Investment Company, has entered into a significant Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Airbus. This agreement involves the production of Ailerons for Airbus A320 models. The MoA highlights Strata's dedication to fostering strategic partnerships in the aerospace industry.

The agreement was signed by Sara Abdulla Al Memari, Acting CEO of Strata Manufacturing, and Nicola Coombs, VP - Ho Aerostructures Wing Procurement from Airbus. Present at the signing were Dr Bakheet Al Katheeri, CEO of Mubadala’s UAE Investments Platform, Ismail Ali Abdulla, Executive Director of the UAE Clusters unit within UAE Investments platform and Managing Director of Strata, and Wouter Van Wersch, EVP International and Executive Vice President Airbus Africa and Middle East.

Under this partnership, Strata will supply half of Airbus's demand for A320 family Ailerons. This move supports the production needs for over 7,000 aircraft in Airbus's backlog. As Airbus increases its production rate, Strata will manufacture these components at its Al Ain facility. The Emiratization rate at this facility is expected to be 50%, encompassing both engineers and technicians.

Ismail Ali Abdulla expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: "For over 17 years, our partnership with Airbus has been a journey of innovation, excellence, and shared ambition. Today, this collaboration reaches new heights as we expand our portfolio to include Ailerons for the Airbus A320 family high rate programme, a first for Strata and a significant step forward in scale and capability."

Long-standing Collaboration

This new collaboration builds on a long-standing relationship between Strata and Airbus that began in 2008. The first delivery of A330 inboard flaps occurred in 2010. Since then, their partnership has grown based on trust and operational excellence across various Airbus programs.

The collaboration is expected to expand further with potential work packages for the A400M if selected by the UAE. This ongoing relationship continues to strengthen both companies' positions within the global aerospace industry.
