SteelFab 2026 Expo Signals Growth As Expo Centre Sharjah Concludes Event

The 21st SteelFab 2026 exhibition closed at Expo Centre Sharjah on Thursday after a highly attended four-day run, reinforcing its status as the Middle East and North Africa’s largest event for metalworking and steel fabrication, and underscoring Sharjah’s role as a central meeting point for technology providers, manufacturers, and investors across regional and global steel value chains.

Organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the event occupied 25,000 square metres and brought together more than 600 local and international brands, represented by 350 exhibitors from 35 countries, who presented new machinery, software, and integrated production systems tailored to heavy industries and advanced metal fabrication.

SteelFab 2026 further cemented its standing as a regional business platform by gathering iron and steel manufacturers, suppliers, and investors under one roof, supported by strong participation from major fabrication and metal-forming companies based in the UAE, Germany, the United Kingdom, China, Türkiye, India, Thailand, and Egypt, many of which already export products to more than 70 countries worldwide.

This broad international presence encouraged new trade links and helped expand cross-border distribution networks for advanced steel and metal-forming equipment, while also creating additional industrial export opportunities for companies targeting regional and global markets, including specialised producers of machinery, consumables, and automation systems serving complex steel production processes.

A key milestone for SteelFab 2026 was its adoption of fully integrated, AI-powered digital exhibition technologies, making it the first event of its kind in the UAE and the wider region to run a comprehensive digital twin alongside the physical show, reflecting both the rapid growth of the national industrial sector and its capacity to attract high-value investments in smart manufacturing solutions.

Central to this shift was the introduction of AetherEx, described as a digital twin platform that allows exhibitors to maintain their market visibility, showcase their products, and stay connected with global audiences long after the physical show ends, while supporting sustainability goals by extending product exposure beyond the limited days of the on-site exhibition.

The AetherEx platform enables exhibitors to build and manage virtual pavilions that display products, services, and technical solutions through interactive formats, while advanced tools within the system help track customer sentiment, monitor buyer behaviour, and analyse engagement patterns through a central dashboard, ensuring business discussions and strategic partnerships can continue well after SteelFab 2026 has finished.

Expo Centre Sharjah is using this AI-driven exhibition model to strengthen interactions between global manufacturers and buyers, and to assist the heavy industries sector in aligning with global trends in comprehensive digital transformation, while live demonstrations on the show floor highlighted next-generation steel production equipment, low-cost laser cutting systems, and AI-powered manufacturing robots designed for complex steel fabrication tasks.

These extensive technology showcases helped position SteelFab 2026 as an integrated platform that addresses a wide range of industrial requirements while supporting advanced sustainability standards, a direction echoed by Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, who stressed that the event had moved beyond traditional exhibition objectives to act as a future-focused model integrating Artificial Intelligence with heavy industries.

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa explained that the successful conclusion of SteelFab 2026 reinforces Sharjah’s role as a leading regional innovation hub and a strategic gateway to surrounding markets, and added that the launch of the AetherEx platform reflects a clear commitment to adopting future-ready solutions and enabling new forms of sustainable, continuous business interaction between exhibitors and buyers worldwide.
