The King Salman Science Oasis (KSSO) is set to introduce the STEAM Academy later this year, marking a significant step towards equipping students with essential skills for the digital era. This initiative, a collaborative effort involving KSSO, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's Center of Excellence, Microsoft, UNESCO, the London Science Museum, and the American University in Bordeaux, aims to foster emotional intelligence through a project-based learning approach. KSSO Supervisor General Dr. Khalid bin Abdul Qadir Taher highlighted the academy's flexible programming, designed to accommodate after-school hours, vacation periods, and remote learning options.

This development is part of KSSO's broader objective to enhance the knowledge economy by promoting proficiency in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields. Through strategic partnerships, KSSO focuses on advancing future technology skills across various sectors including healthcare, energy, industry, and environmental sustainability. The past year has seen remarkable engagement at KSSO, with over 120,000 visitors participating in interactive exhibits, astronomy shows, scientific dialogues, and global events such as the Hour of Code and the Imagine Cup. Additionally, more than 300 teachers and students have benefited from a UNESCO STEAM Enrichment Program.
