Stc Group Honoured With GSMA T-ISAC Cybersecurity Award At MWC 2024

In a significant achievement that underscores its leadership in digital transformation, stc Group has been honored with the GSMA T-ISAC Contributors Award at the 2024 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. This accolade is a recognition of stc Group's outstanding contributions and leadership in the realm of cyber security, marking a notable milestone as the first mobile operator outside of Europe to receive this prestigious award.

GSMA, an influential lobby organization that represents the interests of mobile network operators globally, selected stc Group from a competitive pool of 150 telecommunications and mobile operators worldwide. This selection highlights stc Group's exceptional commitment and expertise in enhancing telecommunications security and fostering a collaborative environment for the mobile cyber security community.

Abdullah Alowini, Supply Chain VP at stc, expressed his gratitude and pride in receiving this award. In 2023, stc Group was chosen by GSMA to be among six companies leading the T-ISAC SS7 Operator Focus Group. This initiative focuses on addressing mobile cyber attacks and telecommunications threats that jeopardize voice and SMS communications. Through this collaboration, stc Group's executive team worked closely with GSMA on developing strategies for intelligence sharing and mitigating global telecommunications cybersecurity risks by creating a comprehensive protective framework.

The event is taking place in Barcelona from 26th to 29th February, drawing industry leaders and innovators from around the world to discuss and showcase the latest developments in connectivity and digital transformation.
