SRTI Park And Enterprise Ireland Sign Partnership Agreement To Boost Trade And Innovation
The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) has formed a partnership with the Irish Development Agency. This collaboration was formalised during the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival. Present at the signing were Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SRTI Park, and Hussein Al Mahmoudi, the Park's CEO. Marina Donohoe, Head of Research and Innovation at the Irish Development Agency, also attended.
This agreement paves the way for cooperation in advanced manufacturing, sustainability, and emerging technologies. It aims to help companies access markets more efficiently amidst growing trade between the UAE and Ireland. Dr. Asma Mahmoud Fikri, Director of Government and Institutional Partnerships at SRTI Park, highlighted that this agreement is a result of a year-long collaboration.
Through this partnership, both parties aim to achieve strategic objectives such as providing joint commercial and investment opportunities. The agreement will enable companies to expand their presence in both Sharjah and Ireland markets. Additionally, training programmes will be launched to assist businesses in adapting to diverse business environments.
Al Mahmoudi described this partnership as a significant step forward in enhancing commercial and research relations between the UAE and Ireland. He emphasised that SRTI Park acts as a global hub attracting innovators from various fields. Ireland's expertise in advanced manufacturing, clean technologies, and precision engineering plays a crucial role in enriching this ecosystem.
Donohoe remarked that this agreement is a key milestone in strengthening strategic partnerships between Ireland and Gulf countries. She noted that Sharjah is an ideal destination for Irish companies involved in advanced manufacturing and precision engineering. This opens new avenues for research, development, and industrial collaboration between the two nations.
Dr. Fikri mentioned that organised visits by trade delegations and exchanges of expertise have been part of the collaborative efforts over the past year. These initiatives have laid the groundwork for this formal agreement between SRTI Park and the Irish Development Agency.
This partnership signifies a commitment to fostering innovation through shared expertise in advanced sectors. It aims to create opportunities for growth by leveraging each country's strengths in technology and industry.
