SRTIP Board Targets Growth Through Strategic Collaboration In Key Innovation Areas

The Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP) recently held a board meeting led by Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi. The meeting provided a comprehensive update on the Park's current status and outlined plans for its next phase of strategic development. Sheikha Bodour expressed gratitude to the board members for their ongoing support and acknowledged the leadership of SRTIP CEO Hussain Al Mahmoudi in driving the Park's success.

Sheikha Bodour highlighted the significance of partnerships between academia and industry in supporting SRTIP's future goals. "To achieve our vision, we are leveraging the power of collaboration. Our industry and academic partners are vital pillars of our innovation ecosystem. By leveraging their research capabilities, we are developing cutting-edge solutions that address both local and global challenges in sectors like mobility, sustainability, and healthcare," she stated.

SRTIP Board Focuses on Strategic Growth Initiatives

Sheikha Bodour emphasised that this is an opportune moment for SRTIP to excel in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and sustainable technology. Achieving these objectives will require deep engagement across various sectors. Following her remarks, CEO Hussain Al Mahmoudi shared insights into the progress made over the past ten months as SRTIP transitions from Phase 1 to Phase 2 of its strategic plan.

Al Mahmoudi explained that significant efforts have been made to review and refine strategies while identifying new focus areas to enhance competitiveness. "We are excited to deliver the vision of the Park into reality and are working hard, utilising the tremendous experience and support of the board alongside our growing team here at SRTIP, to be agile in reviewing our strategic direction," he said.

The CEO also highlighted successful activities and programs at SRTIP this year that improved community engagement. Notable examples include the Women in Technology Forum and Seal the Deal initiative. This unique platform was developed with American University of Sharjah and Sheraa, allowing student-led startups to connect with business leaders for potential investment opportunities and strategic guidance.

SRTIP’s Chief Strategy Officer Dr. Fareed Al Ameeri presented a review of efforts undertaken by his team to identify key projects supporting future growth. This detailed study involved numerous deep dives with board member support in working groups. The results aim to consolidate SRTIP’s position as one of the region's most vibrant innovation hubs.

Financial Performance Review

The board also assessed SRTIP's financial performance over the past year, expressing satisfaction with its success in staffing growth and future planning. They approved work conducted during an audit by KPMG as part of fiscal and operational due diligence processes at the Park.

SRTIP continues to strive towards creating projects that align with marketing strategy objectives while fostering ecosystem development through partnerships within freezone services infrastructure development goals for upcoming years.
