SRTA Launches Second Edition Of Tareeq Summer Programme To Enhance Children's Skills
The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) is set to launch the second edition of its "Tareeq" summer programme for employees' children. Starting on Sunday, 7th July 2025, and running until 17th July, this initiative aims to offer a productive way for kids to spend their summer break while developing personal and leadership skills.
Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, emphasised the programme's role in supporting youth. He highlighted the importance of engaging children in constructive activities during school breaks, combining education with enjoyment in a secure setting. "We aim to instill positive values in our children and enhance their social skills, which helps in preparing them to contribute to the development of our society," he stated.

This year's programme includes diverse activities and new collaborations with both government and private entities. These partnerships are designed to cater to young people's interests, encouraging creative thinking and exploration of future career paths. Al Othmani noted that this initiative aligns with SRTA's vision of fostering a supportive environment for employees and their families.
Fatima Al Hosani, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Department at SRTA, detailed that the two-week programme will feature various engaging activities and workshops. These will be conducted in collaboration with several organisations. Activities include safety workshops with Sharjah Police, an interactive session on artificial intelligence with Sharjah Media City, and family counselling sessions titled "My Family is the Secret to My Happiness."
The programme also offers visits to the joint operations room shared by SRTA and Sharjah Police. This allows children to learn about both agencies' work. Additionally, there will be a "job shadow" opportunity where students can experience different work environments in departments like finance and IT.
Workshops and Learning Opportunities
The first week concludes with a workshop named "Big Picture," organised alongside Kandem. Following this is a course on information security provided by Digital Sharjah. These sessions aim to broaden children's understanding of various fields while enhancing their skills.
This initiative reflects SRTA's commitment to nurturing young minds by providing them with opportunities that blend learning with fun. By doing so, it prepares them for future societal contributions while ensuring they enjoy their summer vacation productively.
