GCC Secretary General Discusses Growth Of Olympic Athletes In Gulf Sports Sector
The sports sector in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries has seen significant progress, according to Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC. He highlighted the increase in male and female Olympic athletes from these nations and their achievements on both regional and international stages. This progress is attributed to the support and oversight from GCC leaders and the efforts of Olympic committees.
During the 37th Meeting of Presidents of Olympic Committees in GCC countries, held in Kuwait, Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah chaired the session. The meeting focused on promoting sports as a key sector for economic and social development. It also aimed to strengthen cultural ties among people through sports.

Albudaiwi emphasized that the Committee of Presidents of Olympic Committees in GCC states plays a crucial role in advancing sports. The committee supports initiatives that unify Gulf nations by hosting joint tournaments, sharing expertise, and nurturing young athletes. These efforts are seen as vital for building bridges between cultures.
The Secretary General expressed aspirations for expanding cooperation through this committee.
